So, what's the matter? Well, the web-based calendar runs perfectly, but sometimes Android messes up: some calendars, which are correctly shown in Google Calendar, do not appear in Android. Repeating the synchronization does not fix a thing, you have to get dirtier than this.
Go to Settings > Applications > Manage Applications > Running > Calendar storage
Then, click "Clear data" and "Force stop". The first one wipes out the local cache; the latter forces the calendar to restart and download the calendars again from the internet.
Helpful guidelines.

Been struggling with this. Very frustrating. This fixed it all up.
ReplyDeleteThank you SO MUCH! Finally! That drove me crazy.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much. I appreciate the help in fixing my android calendar events not syncing
ReplyDeleteThis didnt fix the problem that a SHARED calendar is not syncing. Someone invited me to share a google calendar and its not showing up on my phone.
ReplyDeleteThis was my case, too. In the picture, the first two are shared calendars and they did not show up :)
ReplyDeleteCan you give me some more information? did you check 'em up in web-based Google Calendar?
Excellent. This did the trick for me!
ReplyDeleteAhh!! Thank you! Works a treat this drove me mad!!
ReplyDeleteHello, I can't get my past events to show up..What do you suggest?
ReplyDeleteThanks
Hi! I googled around and It seems that there's an hard-coded 1 month limit for past events.

Please read this thread, maybe you'll find some workaround for this issue.
Thanks, this saved me a lot of time trying to figure out why my business appointments weren't showing up. Almost got me in trouble.
ReplyDeleteI've tried this....but still can't see the shared calendar I set up. Once I clear the storage and then go back and synch the calendar, I'm still only seeing my main google calendar...any thoughts?
ReplyDeleteTwo questions:
ReplyDelete- did you click on "force stop" before syncing?
- have you correctly set up the missing calendar in the web-based Google Calendar?
I have done all of these things to no avail. The calendar is checked in google, I've cleared, force stopped and sycnhed the android calendar and I still don't see the shared calendar I set up. It works fine on my wifes iphone and ipad, very frustrating. Any additional thoughts?
ReplyDeleteHi, this works and has been very helpful!!! I was getting very frustrated with Android calendar. Thank you so much!
ReplyDeleteHave a Motorola Droid X, unrooted, with Android 2.3.4
ReplyDeleteWhen I got to Applications> Running
It shows Calendar but not Calendar Local Cache
I've got a Motorola Droid X with Android 2.3.4
ReplyDeleteWhen I got to Manage Applications>Running
it shows Calendar but not Calendar Local Cache
My problem is that I seem to need to MANUALLY sync it.
Thanks. Tried many times to fix that. Yours was the only suggestion that worked.
ReplyDeleteThanks! It worked, although for me the "Calendar Storage" application was not in "running applications". However, I found it in "all applications". Thanks again!
ReplyDeleteWorked! Thanks so much. Although for me, the "Calendar Storage" application was found in "All" instead of "Running".
ReplyDeleteThank you.
ReplyDeleteThis is outstanding...worked out great! Thanks for posting!
ReplyDeleteWorked for me, but the program was found under "All" on my Samsung Galaxy S2 with ICS.
ReplyDeleteThis did not work for me!
ReplyDeleteThis unfortunately did not work for me.
ReplyDeleteVery helpful. Thank you! This was a very frustrating problem.
ReplyDeleteI simply cannot thank you enough! This was MADDENING! LOL!
ReplyDeleteGreat! Thank you so much! Only useful thing in all those hours of searching how to fix this problem! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much! I was going crazy with searching the solution...
ReplyDeleteGreat! Thank you so much! Only useful thing in all those hours of searching how to fix this problem! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteThis truly is the ONLY FIX. I've struggled for HOURS. I have no idea what happened, but last evening, all shared calendars disappeared, just gone. All six shared are now back. Thank you for posting this remedy!!!
ReplyDeleteTHANK YOU...all six shared calendars that disappeared yesterday and now appearing. You rock!!
ReplyDeleteAwesome! I think an OS update moved the location of the process (as recent commenters have said.) Worked!
ReplyDeleteI love you!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the help ;)
ReplyDeleteThis so did not work!!! Not only do I not see my shared calendars... Now I can't see any of my calendars!!!! And I have no idea how to fix it. HELP!!!
ReplyDeleteThis didn't work for me either. I did get it fixed so try this. Open your calendar, open settings, select MORE (you may or may not be exactly set up this way) then choose calendars. You will see a list of those calendars who are sharing with you. You will see the status and it should say whether it's synced, visible etc. I had to tap on the one I'm sharing till it said synced, visible. Once I selected that, I saw my calendar start populating.
ReplyDeleteWorked like a charm! Thanks for posting!
ReplyDeleteworked perfectly, even for shared calendars! Thanks! Samsung Galaxy S3 running Android version 4.1.1
ReplyDeleteI don't know what anyone is talking about. THIS DOES NOT WORK!!! The only way to fix the problem is a factory reset. IF... And I stress IF you are using Android 2.3.6 there is no fix. I'm not a happy chappy about this, because this is the second time this year that I've had this problem.
ReplyDeleteThanks a lot, worked for me ;)
ReplyDeleteThat worked!
ReplyDeleteThanks!
Thank you SO MUCH this worked for me. I was trying to view a calendar that my husband shared to me and I was at my wit's end.
ReplyDeleteThank you. My problem was that I could not open the calendar because the app would not allow the keyboard to pop up and stay in place. Your advice cracked the problem straight away.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much. I couldn't even get entries to STAY in the calendar on my phone anymore. I entered them online, but they wouldn't sync. Thanks again.
ReplyDeleteIt worked! thank you
ReplyDeleteYou could have informed prior to all this that this process would destroy your entire local calendar. Thanks I just lost a year of information
ReplyDeleteYou could have reminded the readers that this process would destroy their entire local calendar. Thanks. I just lost a year of information.
ReplyDeleteIt didn't work for me initially, I ended up going to into Applications|All and then following the steps mentioned in this post for each of the three calendar apps on my phone (Calendar, Calendar Storage, and Calendar Widget) After doing that, All my calendars, both mine and shared showed up as they should have. Thanks for the help!!!
ReplyDeleteTHANK YOU!!!
ReplyDeleteBrilliant, thank you :)
ReplyDelete3/25/14
ReplyDeleteDid not work.
Nothing works.
Thanks man it is useful !!!
ReplyDeleteVery helpful - thank you!
ReplyDeleteI had a shared calendar, which showed up via web but not on the mobile app. Couldn't find answer on Google Help, but this solved the problem.
BTW, for newer Android systems (I've got KitKat 4.4.2), the calendar data storage control function is found at:
* Settings > Apps > All > Calendar storage
Like everyone else here, I had the same problem and spent way too much time in frustration. I finally searched with this phrase, "why does only 1 of my google calendars show up on android." Truly a longhand kind of search--every other search had provided insufficient answers.
ReplyDeleteMille grazie!
Thank you, it worked well.
ReplyDeleteThank you! Worked perfectly :-)
ReplyDelete6:32 worked for me, data clear and forced stop plus calendar settings adjustment worked :-)

ReplyDeleteWorked!!
ReplyDeleteWorked!!
ReplyDeleteThis didn't work for me, but I found another solution to make my shared calendar sync to Android:
ReplyDeleteHamburger menu -> Settings -> More/All/Additional, and then I could se my shared calendar. Then I had to manually enable Sync on it, and now it shows up.
THANK YOU SO MUCH! It worked. Finally, my calendars are synced!
ReplyDeleteworked for me! thanks alot!
ReplyDeleteMake sure not to "clear data" just on the google calendar app but also the calendar storage. I was stuck on that for awhile
Hi. This worked for the shared calendar I had missing but now I've lost another one that was fine. Any ideas on how to resolve this?
