And there I am, bouncing in the r>3 bifurcation.

Life is certainly a chaotic system, bound to your initial conditions and prone to sudden changes whose conseguences you can not predict.

I'm collecting resources, and I'll be forced to quit the aequilibrium condition choosing my path, my future, my work, my specific interests. Sometimes having many interests is a such a disadvantage.

Una piccola delegazione del coro Bicocca (Marco, Igor, Om e me) è stata invitata a corroborare una bizzarra revisione di "Stairway to Heaven"... ci siamo cappottati dalle risate!

Ciliegina sulla torta, l'organizzazione dell'evento ci ha gentilmente fornito uno dei camerini dell'Auditorium, proprio sopra quelli della Banda! Che dire, trattamento da superstar nonostante una performance un po' timorosa.

Ma stasera ci rifaremo!!

Yet another satisfaction

Programming languages exam is achieved; an honest 28.

It has been an interesting experience, I discovered the beauty of functional programming (and conseguently raised my score in the euler project) and fell in love with logic programming: ProLog is an incredible language, but can also cause incredible headaches.

Now... full throttle toward Operational Research, Physics and Calculus 2.

Argh.

Soddisfazioni

Sopra uno dei palchi più belli e importanti di Milano (l'Auditorium), davanti a più di 1200 paia di occhi severi, diretti dal maestro Mantanus tanto giovane quanto capace (nonchè gnocco, garantiscono contralti e soprani) abbiamo eseguito un'opera bellissima (la Messa in Sol del mio adorato Schubert) accompagnati alla grande dall'orchestra "Verdi per Tutti".

Uno dei momenti più memorabili da quando sono entrato nel Coro dell'Università di Milano-Bicocca.

E quando è partito il credo...

Natural language web searches, ProLog and my constant lateness

During the last three months I studied logical programming, focusing on ProLog, and thought that it could be interesting to use its powerful deductive capabilities to improve web searches, making them more logical and natural.

I googled a bit and discovered that, as always, there's someone who's developing in that direction: Powerlabs is a San Francisco company, working on a search engine based on natural language processing; they're trying to push web searches further the "simple" matching of keywords.

Actually, I don't have any idea of the languages and algorythms they're using (I just read they're seeking RoR programmers for the front-end... GOOD!), but the idea is quite similar. Are they gonna be next Google?
